Do you ever come across beauty or fashion products that you once said you would never use then slowly realize that you would. I once said I would not paint my nails blue, green, dark purple or metallic. Then the other day, I was having a browse at Topshop’s beauty section and saw this metallic nail polish that seemed to change color in the light and I thought ‘nah not going to get that’…’even though it’s so pretty.’ Then I tried it on and could not leave without it. Initially I thought I would just buy it to add little touches of metallic to my nail polish but it has now spread to the rest of my nails. What do you think about metallic nails? So yeah this is another think I said I would never do that I just did and Looooved. Also it reminds me of space and aliens which is totally cool of course.
I also wanted to rave about Seche Vite top coat it is dries my nails super quick and it has a slightly gelish thickness that makes them shiny.

I finally found my powder pink lipstick! I had been looking for a 1960s style pink lipstick, or at least the color I perceive lipstick in the movies I watch. After searching for that perfect shade of pink I finally found it at Topshop rightly called a ‘lipstick’ in Coy $10. I pictured carmex next to the lipstick because the texture of it is really matte more so than a MAC mattle lipstick which is good because it stays put but I put a little carmex on it to moisturize a bit before I put on the lipstick because otherwise it feels a bit dry. I’m really impressed with Topshop’s makeup range and I love the fact that they update every season just like their collections. You also know it has to be good if they sell it at luxury-quirky-goods retailer Colette. Do you get obsessed with finding colors or am I the only one? maybe finding a perfect red or something?

Veronica Lake
For New Year’s Eve, I chose this emerald green floor-length dress from Topshop with a side split and wore my hair with a faux undercut and soft curls like Veronica Lake. I saw loads of floor length gowns for AW 2013 I was particularly in love with Elie Saab’s gowns (below).
Unfortunately the picture below is the best one I got of the dress that my friend took on his phone and it was so dark that I made it black and white because you can’t see the color anyway. I felt like a glamourous 1930s film star (Veronica Lake, Katherine Hepburn, Rita Hayworth) in this dress and got so many compliments, especially because it was so different from anything I wear. After wearing this dress, I have seen this style everywhere and I love it! Have you worn this style?

Its been a while since I’ve posted about fashion but I thought it was about time. I thought I’d start by posting about my key pieces this month and my inspiration. Of course I still love my fur, oxblood, leather and 1960s style but this time I also work the 1920s trend into party dressing! I love headdresses and everything embroidered.
