I’m back! I wasn’t really gone, but I feel like lately I have been figuring out my life! Anyway I’ve got some cool news. You may or may not have noticed that there is a new tab in the navigation bar called ‘Beauty Shop’ if you haven’t noticed it click here. It is basically a little section on the website where I have curated beauty products that I think are amazing! Great colors and as my friends know products that I have spent countless hours using and researching. Some are expensive and some are dirt cheap but I think that they all work I have also written the reason why below each one. I will try to add more products that I try but I just thought I would share that with you. It’s a bit of an experiment with the help of Amazon but I’m excited to see if anything happens with it. Feel free to browse and ask questions!
My friends always ask me how I know so much random stuff about beauty and the answer is magazines. From the time that I was a teenager I have read magazines and kept the little tokens of advice and information in my head. And now here is another little piece that I will store away:
British readers particularily those in London who read this weeks Stylist may have already read the brilliant little piece on skincare in the magazine. Its stories like these that I rip out and keep in my magazine notebook and in the file in my head that remembers random stuff. This week’s article was about skincare and how many of us don’t use our products properly and therefore are losing tons of money. At the end of the article they gave a little run down on the steps you should follow for your skin care routine. These are as follows:
*I have inserted pictures of the products I use let me know if you want more info about them!
‘Step 1- Cleanser
Cetaphil, Gentle Skin Cleanser
Application: Spend a minute massaging in a lightweight cleanser. Use circular motions on areas of congestion – the chin, nose and forehead – as this drains toxins. If you’re using a balm or cream cleanser, don’t allow it to sink into the skin. (It needs to remain on the surface to draw out impurities.) Rinse with warm water and pat dry. Wait one minute before moving on to the next step.

Step 2- Toner
No 7, Soft and Soothed Gentle Toner
Application: A toner balances the skin’s pH levels and removes residual impurities and dead skin cells from the surface. Saturate a cotton wool pad with alcohol-free toner then sweep over skin before absorbing any excess with a tissue. If you don’t do this, the atmosphere will pull moisture away from the surface and with it moisture from within the skin, leaving it dehydrated.

Step 3- Serum
Estee Lauder, Advanced Night Repair
Application: A serum is an ultraintensive, lightweight formula that can deeply penetrate the skin as it contains molecules that are much smaller than those in a moisturiser. Apply three drops in the palm of your hands and massage into dry skin until fully absorbed. Look for one containing antioxidants to provide protection from environmental damage.

Step 4- Eye Cream
Boots, Vitamin E Eye Cream
Application: The skin around the eye is one tenth of the density of the skin on the face, so an eye product has to be much lighter than a moisturiser. This formula drip-feeds a blend of wrinkle-fighting pentapeptides and health-boosting vitamins. Use your ring finger to pat it around the orbital bone (eye socket) but avoid puffiness by steering clear of the tear duct.
Step 5- Moisturizer
Karin Herzog, Oxygen Face Cream
Application: To check you are using the right amount, apply it to the back of your hand rather than dotting moisturiser onto the face then rubbing it in, warm it between your hands to activate the ingredients then use firm upward motions from the centre of the face towards the hairline where the lymph nodes are located. This aids detoxification.
