Ever since I saw Nicole Ritchie’s blue eyeshadow at the Golden Globes here, I started looking at inspiration from the 1970s and decided I needed to do something with blue eyeshadow. I’d like to start by saying that I’m afraid of eyeshadow because I always feel I look like I got punched in the face especially if it isn’t in brown tones. Lately though, I have been trying to experiment and this is what I came up with. I am by no means a makeup artist and can be quite sloppy but if you are interested: I used MAC Heaven and Earth eye shadow and brushed it all over my lid. Then I used MUA eye liner in Turquoise to like the upper lid as well as the bottom. I topped it off with Benefit’s They’re Real Mascara. What do you think? Have you tried blue eyeshadow?
Mac Lipstick- Kinda Sexy Mac Lipstick- Vegas Volt
Mac Longwear Lipglass- Whoops
Hi Everyone! As you can see from my Zoolander type faces, I have yet to learn a good way to pose for the camera especially when wearing lipstick. Any ideas? Lately I had been obsessed with getting nude lipstick (inspired by Lana Del Rey) and also coral because it seems like that’s the ‘it’ color (subconscious programming). I went to mac and I told the woman I wanted a nude color and then she suggested I try different nudes on because everyone seems to have their own idea of nude. I ended up choosing ‘Kinda Sexy’ because she said that was her favorite and it turns out its my favorite too because I can wear it everyday. I also chose the coral lipgloss because I thought it was a good mix of gloss and color (it looks as if you have put color underneath). Then I went back to Mac and got ‘Vegas Volt’ because I wanted more of a coral lipstick so I chose Vegas Volt which is pretty much the same color as ‘Whoops’. Anyway what do you girls think of the colors? Do you have any current favorites? Also What about my new darker hair color?
Hi There! Sorry it’s been two weeks since my last post but I have been through a roller coaster….mainly flying to NYC unexpectedly followed by Los Angeles and then flying back to London last minute. Nothing tragic…just me doing everything last minute of course.
Anyway, here are some lipsticks I’ve picked up in the past weeks. Essentially the colors are: Pink, Red, Deep Red, and Burgundy…The last two look quite similar but are actually different tones! I think those bottom two are very popular for the fall so you might want to watch out for them. Again excuse my silly faces we all know my story with “modeling” ….it doesn’t exist so I rely on the same routine of pouty faces and cat eyes. Also I’ve just gotten an iphone and its my first smartphone ever so I am way excited (posting too many random pictures on FB) I’ve been taking all the pictures on this phone so the quality may be suffering. After the novelty wears off I will go back to my normal camera! Anyway are you girls trying any new colors?
These are in reverse order of how Im wearing them: L’oreal Grand Crayon in Port (found it at Dollar tree for $1!), MAC matte in Diva $14.40, MAC in Russian Red c/o MAC, MAC in Pink Nouveau $14.50
After Amanda’s travels to Thailand and the States we finally got a chance to connect in Los Angeles. We spent our Sunday drinking coffee in the garden and driving around Los Angeles looking at murals. This one we found at Figueroa st. and Ave. 64. It was quite interesting because there was so much going on and it seemed to fit the colorful psychedelic vibe of Amanda’s 60s inspired outfit!
