WORK EDITION: What do “basics” mean?
This is the second edition of the “basics” pieces. This is a work wardrobe “basics” for those of you that have to dress semi-professional. I remember when I had a 9-5 job just rolling out of bed and throwing on one of two pairs of slacks that I had until I finally perfected my “basics” pieces. This selection will keep you looking chic without too much work. Also I love black if you can tell I think using solid colors makes it easier to wear clothes several times a week without it looking like it! Anyway hope this helps! I would love feed back. Also remember that once you have a basic casual wardrobe and your work wardrobe you can mix these and create even more outfits.
Tip: Black and solid colors are great for looking chic and camouflaging your small wardrobe!
1) Tops- Black Collared shirt (I opted for a chiffon silk mix to make it a bit more stylish), plain black shirt, white collared shirt, Cardigan, blazer, Some type of knit!
2) Bottoms: Black slacks (I opted for high-waisted black flares because they look chic), pencil skirt (this is a classic so I added a modern and trendy twist by making it leather), Circle skirt, black work dress.
3) Shoes: Classic pump, Flat, and your special stylish shoe. I would choose black shoes because they go well with everything.
4) Accessories: A statement necklace (or 3 these are perfect for dressing up your work wardrobe), bangles, oversized watch, cocktail ring, hanging earrings.
