A few weeks ago, I was finally able to catch up with facialist Clare Peters whose magic hands have perfected the skin of it girls like Sadie Frost and Cara Delevingne. I’d previously seen her for a 111SKIN facial which I thought was a perfect combination of pamper with results. This time around she suggested I try the Venus Viva a new treatment she’s just added to her offering. Her new space at Joshi Clinic on Wigmore Street is not just lush but also super convenient.
What is the Venus Viva?
a high tech resurfacing treatment that uses radio frequency and needles to even out skin tone, reduce wrinkles, acne scars, stimulate collagen production and improve overall quality of skin tone.
How does it feel?
I was a bit nervous before the treatment as I hadn’t had a treatment like this for so long but Clare explained to me that the radio frequency minimises pain and helps to distribute the energy through all the needles. And she was right! The treatment was relatively painless. I was quite pink right afterwards but was fine after about three hours. Over the next few days the skin slowly dried and peeled away but not in a scary sort of way it was just a bit dry.
I’ve actually got quite sensitive skin so whenever I have treatments done I make sure to keep my face clean and hydrated with a sensitive skin moisturiser like Avene Hydra Optimale. I also didn’t wear make up, go to the gym or steam for three days just to let it really heal without being disturbed.
I’ll have to check back with you for full results but as for now I notice a difference in my pore size and have noticed my skin has more of a glow than it did before. I’d definitely recommend having this treatment done by Clare.
Facialist Clare Peters at Joshi Clinic performs a whole range of facial and body treatments starting at £100.
